This little spiral bound cookbook is written by a well known angling author. The cover oil painting and internal sketches add an attractive touch. As for the thirty two trout recipes inside, they are all straight forward with a checklist of ingredients and a simple sentence or two providing the cooking instructions. As the book points out, Alex Gillett has included some literary fly fishing trivia to lighten the chef?s burden, and to provide enjoyment for those who do not cook. And so, each recipe is accompanied by a short anecdote and a few lines of verse. These include some real little gems including many of his own and others sourced from elsewhere.
