The logbook is supplied in a clear, strong, document safe, cold-proof plastic wallet. This log follows the same pattern as the "seaman's book", in common use aboard commercial vessels worldwide. It is designed to be used by any mariner, commercial or leisure, who would like to keep a record of sea service in a form acceptable for certificate of competency purposes. It is of special application in the service-area between SOLAS merchant ships and pure leisure yachts, which is becoming a trade in its own right aboard such vessels as superyachts and charter boats. It has been approved as acceptible evidence by Maritime New Zealand and New Zealand Coastguard Boating Education. It is available also through Kelvin Hughes in the UK and Europe.
